Danske Markets has always been an established part of the Danske Bank Group with various identities. The Brand name - Danske Markets - was created in 2000. Since the mid-1990's the Danske Bank Group has acquired a number of banks outside Denmark and during this period, the investment banking parts of these acquisitions became part of Danske Markets today.

Danske Markets is responsible for Danske Bank Group’s activities in the financial markets. Trading activities include trading in fixed-income products, foreign exchange, equities and interest-bearing securities; providing the largest corporate customers and institutional clients with financial products and advisory services on mergers and acquisitions; and assisting customers with equity and debt issues on the international financial markets.
Institutional banking includes facilities with international financial institutions outside the Nordic region. Institutional facilities with Nordic financial institutions form part of the Danske Bank Group’s banking activities.
